My latest tutorial is up on my YouTube, and SO different from my normal content! If you didn’t know, the NYX Face awards is currently underway. While my tutorial didn’t make the cut, I’m so glad I finally had an excuse to be creatively challenged! I get in ruts from time to time and I’ve found myself in one of those recently. Having to create something new and different helped reignite my love for makeup and using makeup in artistic ways!
I love Disney characters, and there are already some amazing tutorials out on YouTube! A lot of the tutorials I’ve seen have taken a character and recreated the makeup as literally as they could. For me, that’s more of a recreation since another artist created the character in the first place. And I’ve done recreation makeup tutorials for Disney Character in the past! Have you seen my Corpse Bride tutorial?!
For this tutorial, I wanted to do something a little different. So I decided to combine a Disney villain and a time era! I thought it would be really fun to create what I thought Ursula would look like as a flapper from the 1920’s! And you guys, I’m obsessed with the way it turned out! Especially the nails, that was my favorite part – even if it had nothing to do with makeup!
I hope you love this tutorial as much as I do! I put my heart into it and I’m so proud of the way it turned out! I’m glad I put myself out there and at least entered a contest like the NYX Face Awards! I already feel even more inspired and motivated to apply next year too! So grab some popcorn, rewind a few decades and enjoy this 1920’s Ursula flapper makeup tutorial!
