My Disney Week Recap
My New Year’s Resolution for 2018 will be to blog more often, but it’s not too late for me to share my Walt Disney World Vlogs with you guys! I recently did a “Disney Week” on my YouTube channel where I uploaded a different Disney video every single day – seven days in a row! I had so much fun vlogging while I was there, and I would love to share some of my favorite moments of my trip with you!
Day 1: Meeting Alice and Bon Voyage Breakfast
Day one consisted of a LOT of travel! Flying from Washington to Florida is really an all-day thing but I managed to sneak in a quick meet and greet with Alice! Nothing is better than hopping off of a plane, jet-lagged, and meeting some Disney characters. I included the Bon Voyage breakfast in this vlog too, it was SO much fun having breakfast with Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, Ariel and Eric! Young or old, I would highly suggest this character dining experience to anyone!
Day 2: Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
Not gonna lie, a big reason why I went on my trip was to go to the Halloween party. I’ve gone three years in a row, and I still love it! It’s a great way to meet rare characters like Jack Skellington, Cruella, the Seven Dwarves, Jack Sparrow, Moana and many more! They also added a meet and greet with Ariel and Eric and one with Belle and Gaston. During the party they have lots of trick-or-treat opportunities, the Hocus Pocus show (my favorite) and the Boo-To-You parade! There’s so many things to do, the only downfall is you probably won’t get to do everything. Be sure to plan out what you really want to do ahead of time, it’ll help you be more efficient with your time!
Day 3: Magic Kingdom
This vlog was probably the most magical, and it’s no secret that Magic Kingdom is my favorite park. I love watching the different parades and shows, and this vlog is packed full of them! I ended up watching the castle show twice that day, and got some cool photo ops too!
Day 4: Animal Kingdom
I finally got to visit the world of Pandora! It was crowded, and we didn’t have time to do the rides with the 2+ hour wait times. It was still fun to walk around though, especially since I got to watch them work on it while I was working for the company! I also got to meet my old friend King Louie and visit Donald in Dinoland too!
Day 5: Hollywood Studios
I love Fantasmic, but my favorite part in visiting Hollywood Studios was going to the 50’s Prime Time Cafe! I hadn’t been there before, even though my roommate from the College Program used to work there and raved about it. My friend Rachel and I had SO much fun – honestly it was more entertaining than most character dining experiences. You know how when you were a kid your parents had rules for the dinner table like ‘don’t talk with your mouth full’, ‘put your napkin on your lap’, ‘no elbows on the table’, etc.? The same rules apply here! If you don’t follow them, the consequences are pretty hysterical!
Day 6: Epcot
Another great reason to visit Disney World in October is the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot! Epcot is already known for having a vast array of food and beverages from different countries. But during the festival they add dozens of booths from countries not represented in the World Showcase. My favorite treat was the creme brûlée in France! France offers the creme brûlée year-round, but at their booth during the festival they had it with this raspberry filling that was to die for!
Day 7: How to Meet Disney Characters
I wanted to make my last Disney week video special, so I created a video based off of one of my most popular questions I receive, “How do you meet Disney Characters?”. To me it always seemed simple. But I do have an unfair advantage since I had a lot of practice as a character attendant. I’ll admit – It can be kinda awkward for adults to meet characters. A lot of my subscribers had questions about what to ask characters. So I provided some examples of character interactions I had when I was there. Plus, at the very end I included a special surprise from some of my character friends!
What’s Next
I had so much fun with my Disney week videos! It was a great way to re-energize my YouTube channel and fun to recap my adventures. The holidays are now in full-force and I can’t wait to share some more vlogs and tutorials with you! I hope you enjoyed my Disney week recap, what video was your favorite?
